fabAI flagged batch L-2481: three days from best-before – FEFO suggestion created.
- Real-time stock
- Own online shop included
- Carriers integrated
Three problems that escalate with volume
At 80 orders a day they are irritations. At 300 they become the bottleneck.
Data silos between channels
Shop, marketplace and inventory management are out of sync. Stock errors, overselling and manual upkeep cost time and trust – especially at seasonal peaks.
Stock, prices and orders synchronise in real time across every channel.
Shipping and returns run by hand
Pick-pack-ship is steered with several tools, labels are created manually, returns are coordinated by email. That ties up staff and creates errors as soon as volume rises.
A shipping process including carrier connection, labels and structured returns.
Payment handling is fragmented
PayPal, credit card, SEPA and invoice run in different systems. Open items, dunning runs and tax requirements across several currencies are hard to follow.
Order and payment automated, with multi-currency, dunning and accounting.
Your own shop or the one you already have
fabular ships with a fully integrated online shop – no third-party solution, no interface upkeep. Anyone already working with Shopify or another platform connects it instead. Either way, warehouse, logistics, payment and accounting run straight from the ERP.
- Online shop included in the standard, from the same data model
- Shopify, WooCommerce and other platforms can be connected
- Serve marketplaces in parallel, from one stock figure
- The ERP stays the leading system, the shop becomes the front end
- A one-off dashboard for the next campaign gets built by describing it to fabAI, directly on the synchronised stock figure – not a separate Vibecoding tool keeping its own second truth about inventory

ERP for online retailers
At what volume does an ERP pay off?
The threshold has less to do with a number of orders than with the number of manual intermediate steps. Anyone reconciling stock between shop and inventory management, transferring picking lists or matching incoming payments by hand pays for that effort every day. In our experience it becomes untenable at roughly 100 to 200 orders a day.
Do we have to change our shop?
No. fabular comes with its own online shop that you can use but do not have to. Existing platforms such as Shopify are connected. The difference is that in both cases the ERP is the leading system for stock, price and order.
How are returns handled?
As a process of their own with status, reason and assessment: return to stock, rework or write-off. Stock is corrected accordingly and the credit note comes out of the same process. The return reasons make patterns visible – for instance articles with a conspicuously high return rate.
Does the system cope with peak loads?
Yes, and that is the real test. What matters is less the orders themselves than the downstream processes: order picking, shipping labels and payment reconciliation. Because those steps run in the same system, nothing backs up at an interface. During the pandemic, existing customers moved from two to three shifts within days.
