From raw materialto delivery.

Short shelf lives, strict quality standards, complex supply chains and growing compliance pressure: food producers and traders have requirements a standard ERP does not know. fabular maps the entire value chain in one system – from raw material intake through production and warehousing to the delivery route. Anything beyond that – a one-off recall report, a new dashboard for the next audit – gets built by describing it to fabAI, on that same audited foundation of batch tracing and HACCP logic, not as a Vibecoding side project.

fabAI flagged batch L-2481: three days from best-before – FEFO suggestion created.

  • IFS Food ready
  • HACCP-compliant
  • FEFO/FIFO in the standard
The starting point

Three problems almost every business knows

They appear before an integrated industry system is in place – and when it matters, they cost more than time.

Traceability without real time

Batches are documented in Excel or on paper. In a recall there is no immediate overview: which batches are affected, and where are they right now?

Complete batch traceability from raw material to customer, in real time and across departments.

Shelf life and warehousing run by hand

Best-before management, FEFO/FIFO control and temperature monitoring sit in separate systems or in people's heads. The risk: spoilage and breaches that only surface in an audit.

FEFO/FIFO, best-before dates and the cold chain controlled by the system – automatically and audit-compliant.

Compliance pressure keeps growing

IFS Food, HACCP, organic certification, EU food law. Without a digital foundation every inspection becomes a nervous wait, because auditors expect complete evidence available immediately.

All evidence structured, audit-proof and available at any time.

In detail

How fabular maps the industry

Four integrated solution areas. What is created in one is available in the next without any transfer.

Batch-based production planning

  1. 1.Best-before dates, recipes and raw material availability are taken into account centrally.
  2. 2.Steer production orders efficiently, spot bottlenecks early.
  3. 3.Avoid overproduction, use resources well.
  4. 4.Complete batch traceability from raw material to finished product.

Built for fresh and processed food, not for series manufacturing.

Warehouse and logistics control

  1. 1.FEFO and FIFO controlled automatically, without manual intervention.
  2. 2.Temperature zones, cold chain and best-before dates monitored by the system.
  3. 3.Reduce stock losses and write-offs for good.
  4. 4.Transparency from putaway to delivery.

Mobile capture directly at the bin location, offline as well.

Quality assurance & compliance

  1. 1.IFS Food, HACCP and organic standards supported natively.
  2. 2.Inspections from goods receipt to finished product controlled centrally.
  3. 3.Detect and follow up deviations and complaints early.
  4. 4.Audit documentation complete and available at any time.

Release and blocking processes are part of the flow, not a separate step.

Route planning prioritised by shelf life

  1. 1.Products with a short remaining shelf life are delivered first.
  2. 2.Delivery priorities, freshness and time windows taken into account automatically.
  3. 3.Driver app with mobile feedback, offline-capable.
  4. 4.Delivery status in real time for scheduling and customers.

Short-notice changes can be handled without putting delivery quality at risk.

Standards

Evidence that holds up in an audit

The compliance documentation is part of the platform, not a second tool alongside it.

01

Organic certification

EU Organic Regulation, Bio Austria, Demeter – audit-proof evidence for every control body.

02

IFS Food

International Featured Standards: structured audit documentation and inspection records.

03

HACCP

Risk analysis and monitoring documentation at the critical control points.

04

EU food law

Regulation (EC) 178/2002: complete traceability met as a statutory requirement.

fabAI in the industry

AI that thinks ahead on sales and production

fabAI uses historical order data, seasonal patterns and external factors for forecasts – directly in your ERP processes, on your servers.

  • Sales and production forecasts: avoid surplus quantities, use capacity
  • Stock forecasts based on consumption, best-before dates and replenishment logic
  • Spot anomalies in production and quality data early
  • Have seasonal fluctuations in the plan in good time

Sales & Production Forecast

Precise sales and production forecasts instead of last year's experience.

Inventory Forecast

Minimise shortfalls and reduce stock losses from spoilage.

Anomaly detection

Deviations show up before they turn into a recall or a breach.

Common questions

ERP for food producers

What sets a food ERP apart from a standard ERP?

The industry logic is part of the standard rather than an adaptation: complete batch traceability, FEFO/FIFO warehouse control, best-before management, quality management to IFS Food and HACCP, and organic certification evidence. In a generic system each of those points becomes a project – with effort, waiting time and a special solution that has to be re-checked with every update.

How does batch traceability work?

fabular documents every batch from raw material receipt through all production and warehouse steps to delivery. In a recall, affected batches can be identified, blocked and traced within seconds – in both directions: forwards, to where they were delivered, and backwards, to where the raw material came from. That meets the EU General Food Law (Regulation 178/2002).

What does FEFO mean, and how does fabular implement it?

FEFO stands for First Expired, First Out: products with the earliest expiry date are picked and delivered first. fabular controls that automatically from the stored best-before dates, without manual intervention. FIFO is supported alongside it. Both reduce spoilage and safeguard quality across the whole supply chain.

Does fabular support organic certification under the EU Organic Regulation?

Yes, including Bio Austria and Demeter. Audit-proof documentation, audit records and automated evidence generation for control bodies are part of the system. Audits can therefore be prepared without first pulling documents together from four sources.

How long does an implementation take?

Four to twelve months, depending on company size, the modules chosen and the depth of integration. We accompany the whole route – process analysis, implementation, go-live and the hypercare phase afterwards. Parallel operation makes sure your production keeps running throughout.
