Three problems that bring plant to a standstill
An unplanned standstill costs a multiple of the maintenance that would have prevented it.
Reactive maintenance instead of planning
Intervals are managed by hand or not planned systematically at all. Inspection dates are forgotten, plant fails without warning – with knock-on costs for production and operations.
Intervals monitored by the system, maintenance orders created automatically.
Documentation has gaps
Maintenance records, inspection reports and evidence of interventions sit in Excel, on paper or in several tools. In audits or statutory inspections the complete evidence is missing.
Audit-proof documentation of every intervention, with no manual preparation.
Qualifications are coordinated by hand
Who is allowed to maintain which piece of plant? Which certificates are expiring? Without system support, tasks are assigned wrongly and deadlines are missed.
Assignment by qualification, with expiring training reported in good time.
What a maintenance ERP has to deliver
Maintenance planning, inspection records, faults, spare parts and qualifications belong together – managed separately, the gaps appear exactly where an audit finds them. A one-off breakdown per asset group gets built by describing it to fabAI – on the same audit-proof maintenance and inspection data, not as a spreadsheet running alongside.

Learn moreHow fabular maps maintenance
From planning through faults and inspections to controlling by key figures – in one flow.
Maintenance planning
- 1.Intervals by time, running hours or condition.
- 2.Orders are created automatically and scheduled.
- 3.Plant hierarchy with components and spare parts.
- 4.A forward view of upcoming inspections and deadlines.
Condition-based means the sensor reading triggers the maintenance, not the calendar.
Fault management
- 1.Fault reports filed mobile from where they occur.
- 2.Prioritisation and escalation by defined rules.
- 3.Response and repair times are measured.
- 4.Recurring patterns become visible.
The fault history improves the maintenance planning – not just the statistics.
Mobile feedback
- 1.Feedback by tablet or smartphone, offline as well.
- 2.Work through structured checklists instead of free notes.
- 3.Photos and measurements filed against the order.
- 4.Material consumption posted immediately.
Evidence & key figures
- 1.Inspection records audit-proof and available at any time.
- 2.MTBF and MTTR per asset and asset group.
- 3.Complete, traceable history for every asset.
- 4.Analyses as a basis for investment decisions.
Standards-compliant documentation arises in the process, not as rework.

ERP for maintenance
What does condition-based maintenance mean in practice?
Instead of a fixed calendar, maintenance happens when a condition calls for it – for instance after operating hours, a number of cycles or a sensor reading. fabular takes in those values and creates the order once the threshold is reached. That avoids both: unnecessary maintenance on barely used plant and failures on overloaded plant.
How are MTBF and MTTR determined?
From the recorded fault and repair times, not from estimates. MTBF is the mean time between failures, MTTR the mean repair time. Both values arise automatically as soon as faults are recorded and closed in the system – provided the report happens where the fault occurs. That is why mobile feedback is part of the solution.
Can we involve external contractors?
Yes, through the portal. External service providers get access to the orders released to them, report back and upload inspection reports. The evidence therefore lands directly in your documentation instead of arriving by email and being filed by hand.
How does qualification management work?
For every task you define which qualification or certificate it requires. During planning the system only suggests people who hold it. If a certificate is about to expire, there is an alert beforehand – not once an assignment fails.
Let us talk about your plant availability
Take the last unplanned standstill. We use it to show which early signs would have been visible in the system.
